It was wonderful to see you
I feel its been too long
I love when I can be there
getting lost inside your song

I feel like there's a gap
a distance growing in between
I can't stand that feeling
when for me, your world's unseen

I miss the way it used to be
in all the yesterdays
When I was someone you would call
just to share your day

I miss the sound of your voice
the excitement I could hear
when you wrote a brand new verse
that you couldn't wait to share.

I miss when I could call or text
and you were never far away
A place where I could crash or fall
when life didn't go my way.

I miss the smiles that we shared
as I walked across the room,
The inside jokes, and stolen glances
making everyone assume.

I miss the things that annoy me too
like how you never let me lie
not even to myself
although I certainly have tried.

I miss the way you challenged me
to be better than myself
and not for you but just for me
you helped put fear upon the shelf

Your friendship used to get me through
the long and difficult days
You'd cheer me up, distract my thoughts
in the most unusual ways

And sometimes when all I needed
was a place to sit and cry
you'd give me that and let me be
until my tears were dry.

Thank you for the times we've shared
the moments that have passed
and know your friendship means a lot
and I hope to God it lasts.
